Dr Shrutika Junagade Kankariya is currently the founder and director of
"Asian Eye Hospital - Pune" (rated among top ten eye hospitals in western India region by "The Times of India". She is an Graduate from Seth GS medical college and KEM hospital, Mumbai (rated #1 medical college in maharashtra) She completed her Postgraduation in ophthalmology and advanced medical retina fellowship from Sankara Netralaya,Chennai (rated as Best eye hospital in India) She has obtained FICO UK (Fellow international council of ophthalmology, United Kingdom and FRCS 2, Glasgow.)
Her keen interest in diabetic eye diseases made her one of the few retina specialist to go to Bascom Palmer Eye Institute(BPEI), Miami, USA (rated #1 Eye Hospital in USA); where she specifically got training in diabetic eye disease under the stalwart in this field, Dr. Harry Flynn.
Apart from this she has several years of experience in the management of complicated cataract surgery, diabetic cataract surgery, cataract surgery in children. She has done several national and international presentations including American academy of ophthalmology, Asia pacific. She is doctor to Hon.Ex President Smt Pratibha Tai Patil.
She is president of "Asian Eye Foundation" which supports various social projects including diabetic retinopathy screening, glaucoma awareness and screening. Her interest in low vision aids clinic and rehabilitation for the blind children and adults made her to start one of the few and well equipped low vision aids clinic in PUNE at Asian Eye Hospital. This clinic caters to partially blind and full blind children and adults and give them appropriate equipment's and counseling, helping them to lead an independent dignified life.

award for a national quiz competition amongst 1700 post graduate throughout India. Dr.
Shrutika was selected among top 3 residents among 1700 eye doctors from all over India
and represented India at Asia level conference held at Beijing, CHINA.

Research - While in SanakaraNetralaya, she has conducted research in the field of
“Diabetic macular edema” (A major cause of blindness in diabetic patients) and choroidal
neovascularization membrane.
Award - Won “Woman Achiever Award” as woman healthcare enterpreuner in bulding
Asian Eye Hospital and charity work with not for profit Asian Eye Foundation at
New Delhi in 2017.
