Diabetic retinopathy is an eye condition which can cause vision loss and blindness in people who have diabetes. It affects blood vessels in the retina.
In the early stages of diabetic retinopathy, the walls of the blood vessels in your retina start becoming weak. There are tiny bump like growths on the vessel walls, nerve fibers in the retina swell and produce white spots in the retina. As diabetic retinopathy progresses, new blood vessels may grow, which can frequently break open and bleed, filling eye with blood and threaten your vision.
As Diabetic retinopathy may not have any symptoms at first therefore, it is very important for you to have a comprehensive eye and retina checkup at least once a year. Early diagnosis can help you take steps to protect your vision.
At advanced stage of Diabetic retinopathy laser technology is used for treatment. Depending on your condition our eye specialist will decide and suggest you the plan of treatment, that is, the type of treatments, number of sessions required etc. Laser treatment is an outpatient procedure so barring any complications you can leave the hospital on the very same day.
“I came to Dr.shrutika Kankariya for my eye checkup. Before coming to Asian eye hospital I have visited other places but I found Dr. Shrutika very polite, intelligent in her field and important thing is she didn't forced me for any treatment. She explained me very nicely the need of treatment. I prefer to go to her than other hospital as she is not money oriented. My vision was very less at that time. With continuous intravitreal injection course and medicine my vision got improved. Thank you, Dr. Shrutika madam. !.”Kishin Lalwani

“It was when my mother was advised a cataract surgery, I had to find out a good hospital with advanced facilities. A friend of mine suggested Asian eye hospital. I was bit sceptical about it but decided to visit and consult once. All my pessimistic speculations were at their bests before I visited the hospital because I had come across many reputed hospitals across Pune and found them not good enough in terms of facilities, technologies used and the consultants. Fortunately all my speculations were proven to be false so much so that we decided to get the surgery done only in this hospital. World class facilities, use of best and latest technologies and internationally trend and appreciated doctors truly make it the best eye hospital in Maharashtra as rightly awarded by our chief minister. The pioneer of more than three treatment procedure in India, Asian eye hospital truly caters to the need of patients to the fullest and will surely make a global mark."
We wish them all the best.
“My daughter who is 8 years was undergoing treatment at another hospital for almost 5years but was only diagnosed with some retinal issue. The exact problem was never diagnosed. After coming to Asian eye hospital, Dr shrutika diagnosed a retinal problem due to an infection which was not healing. She advised specific injections given inside the eye and medication for one month which showed improvement. Now after 4months her vision has also improved. Treatment and facilities at Asian eye hospital are very good.”Rajesh Ithape
“Patient relatives are from Panvel and they came to know about AEH through their relatives. The parents of the child were very much impressed with the kind of infrastructure we have in the Hospital and moreover the parents are overwhelmed with performance of the successfull operation of the unique n rare deformity in the left eye of the 10 month old baby. Parents of the patients were very much impressed with kind working atmosphere and very cooperative nature of the Hospital staff. Initially the parents were under stress that such a small baby will have to undergo lot of pain but the surgery was completely painless n the baby has not at all felt any pain during the surgery as well as post surgery. Again the very important point is the cost of the operation the parents were having a sigh of relief about the cost of operation. They are really happy that the operation has taken place well within their budget. Parents are really very happy n told us that definitely here after they will recommend the patients to Asian Eye Hospital. Another big difference the relatives have observed that there is no such pressure from the Hospital staff for advanced payment. It is only before discharge the staff has asked for a payment which the relatives has made the payment very happily.“Atul Mohite
